Skywatching

I sometimes get an amazing light show on the bush across the road when the sun is setting. The dark clouds were in the east and the sun was setting behind the hills in the west.

Beach Birds

A few birds that I spotted last week while walking at Coogee Beach, that's Western Australia's version, not  the more famous Coogee in New South Wales.

Skywatching

It is not often now that I get to see the sun set over the Indian Ocean. Last week we spent a couple of days at Coogee Beach, south of Fremantle. The sunset on Friday night topped off a lovely stroll along the beach.

Monday Murals

These murals are in Wyalkatchem. All show the history of the town, in the wheatbelt,  which at one time boasted a much bigger  population than todays 350 people.

Good Fences

Standing in front of the Wyalkatchem Museum is this interesting tree. My first impression is Edward Scissor  Hands.  Does anyone agree? The pic does include a fence so I am linking with Good Fences

Road Hazard

Another hazard of country driving, after bad drivers,  kangaroos and  emus that is, is the odd sheep that gets out onto the road. These guys can sure go like the clappers and are very unpredictable, darting  straight across the road in front of the car as this one in the second shot did.

Mellow Yellows

All I could find for todays Yellow Meme was a few sparse hibiscus flowers. This tree had double flowers on it last year but this time around they have reverted to singles.    It also puts out the occasional pink flower too.     Today I spotted one solitary half pink, half yellow flower which is a double

Penultimate Sunrise of 2014

We had a scorcher of a day here on Tuesday, 45 degrees. The only good thing about that was that I was up early to open the doors to let what cooler morning air we had come in. This is the sunrise that greeted me. I am usually still snoozing at 4-45 am, so I am now wondering how many other fabulous  sunrises I have been  missing out on. This was certainly a great start to my day.
