Bobtail Goanna

Meet Gordon, he is a  baby Bobtail Goanna who has made himself at home in my garden. They say goannas are territorial so I guess he is here to stay. I am extra vigilant now when I start weeding around bushes and shrubs. They are mostly harmless but can bite if provoked. I first saw him 2 weeks ago and yesterday he was on the path but soon took for cover again when the camera came out.

  10. I love lizards so this really thrilled me. Lucky girl having this beautiful and charming fellow take up residence! Watch your strawberries if you have them growing - favourite treat for our Aussie crawlie friends! :)
