Monday Mellow Yellows

This yellow flowering gum tree is across the road from my house and is so pretty when it is in full flower. I thought it a worthy addition to

  1. Very pretty....and I'm going to sound like an idiot here, but do they get the base for chewing gum from this tree?

    1. Not a silly question Davis, The Australian Gums are Eucalypts. A lot of different species, Eucalyptus oil comes from them, not gum.

    1. Thanks Dianne, there is also one that has silver bark and looks like it has been splashed with paint. There are so many varieties, some I just love for their bark or shape.

    1. Thanks Rose, I have never had space to grow them myself but do admire them when they are in flower whether it be in the street or out in the bush.

    1. Thanks Diane, will be moving next month but I have also struck it lucky, there are 2 or 3 gum trees in the side street of my new house. It will be a surprise to see what colour they are.
