Monday Mural

The local skate park here in Wongan Hills provides the kids with a safe place to ride their bikes, skateboards or just generally hangout. The fact that it has been built right opposite the police station probably cuts out a lot of anti social behaviour which can sometimes plague skate parks. I liked the two murals which have been painted here to brighten up the concrete.

This one depicts our hills, wildflowers and farming crops and sheep. It is on the reverse side of the first one. Note the police station across the road.

  1. A clever location for a skate park Linley, and the murals are wonderful.
My little grandson has recently acquired his first skateboard - and, the local skate park) Needless to say there are lots of family outings to the skate park!

  2. It is a clever location eh Rose. It is good to see the kids out at the skate park, at least they are not vegetating in front of TV or computers.

  4. So every time a police officer sets foot out from the station they see the word "chill" and the target with a face on the bullseye. Wonderful! Thanks for visiting my Johnny Mack Brown mural.

  6. A smart location for the park - probably keeps all the kids under control a bit!

  7. I like the contrast between the two murals. Have to applaud the placement of this skate park, too. Is the wall part of a handball court? Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

Skate parks have some pretty neat looking murals - a good showplace for their talents.

  9. It makes the park a fun place to be. I presume it stops graffiti too.
