Murphy's Haystacks

During a recent trip to South Australia to see family we spotted these unusal rock formations called Inselbergs. These particular ones are near Venus Bay on the Eyre Peninsular and are aptly named Murphy's Haystacks. To passing travellers they looked like haystacks and since they were in Murphy's paddock, hence the name.

  1. Great shots of these intriguing formations. They look like they are off the beaten track.
