Streaky Bay, SA

Whilst in South Australia recently we had lunch at a little café overlooking beautiful Streaky Bay. Laying under the jetty out of the sun was this oldish looking seal who by the look of him has survived one or two shark attacks in his day. His injuries look as though they are healing.  I wasn't that  game to get too close to him, as I know they can move pretty quickly when they are disturbed.

Monday Mural

I had to search the archives for a mural today. This one was taken a few years ago on a trip to South Australia when we visited Tumby Bay. It is an Arts Centre set on the foreshore.

Murphy's Haystacks

During a recent trip to South Australia to see family we spotted these unusal rock formations called Inselbergs. These particular ones are near Venus Bay on the Eyre Peninsular and are aptly named Murphy's Haystacks. To passing travellers they looked like haystacks and since they were in Murphy's paddock, hence the name.
