Pelican Feeding At Kalbarri

These pics are from the archives, one just appeared on the screensaver so I thought it an appropriate posting for Wildbird Wednesday. At the coastal resort town of Kalbarri, Western Australia, local volunteers feed the pelicans daily. They turn up at the same time each  day for a fish.  They are not overfed so don't risk fending for themselves and  make a popular attraction for the tourists. I will show you some of the spectacular scenery from around the area in another post.

  1. a great photo opportunity Linley; they're lucky pelicans - a similar event takes place down the Central Coast, though I've never been there at the right time. Looks like a very pretty place to visit
