This large flock of White Corellas has been occupying the old school oval opposite my house just about every morning of late. There is no chance of a sleep in with the screeching they make. With the recent rain we have had new grasses are shooting up, hence breakfast is on the menu for these rowdies. These birds unfortunately are a pest throughout the wheatbelt area and culling takes place regularly to limit numbers.

They may be a pest & very noisy but they can be sooo amusing!!
ReplyDeleteI have only ever seen these birds in small numbers so these images were great to see. Happy St Valentine's Day and have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteHello Linley, your White Corellas are so pretty. I am sorry they are such a pest.. I would love to see them in the wild.. I can only imagine how loud they can sound in large flock like this.. Great photos..Thank you so much for linking up and sharing your post.. Have a happy Valentine's Day weekend!
ReplyDeletewow! big flock!
ReplyDeletePretty birds, but I can imagine how noisy they are.
ReplyDeleteLovely birds and apparently better than a groups of roosters! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this interesting post and pictures.
ReplyDeleteCulling always seems to be such a desperate option but sometimes there's no other choice. It's always a difficult call though.
Have a nice day.
