Whilst in South Australia recently we had lunch at a little café overlooking beautiful Streaky Bay. Laying under the jetty out of the sun was this oldish looking seal who by the look of him has survived one or two shark attacks in his day. His injuries look as though they are healing. I wasn't that game to get too close to him, as I know they can move pretty quickly when they are disturbed.

Oh I can almost feel the warmth of the sun in your photos! We've had snowy sleet fall all morning!
ReplyDeleteLovely spot for lunch looking over the bay.
the seal needed a quick nap too by the looks of it!
Hello, gorgeous images of the bay and beach. I love the cute seal. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
Beautiful place! And how fortunate you were to see this seal that close.

Poor seal, but I am glad to hear he was healing, and that you were able to get so close and photograph him. Lovely beach.
ReplyDeleteHoping the seal was just enjoying the shade and is now happily back playing in the water! Streaky Bay looks awesome, and a cafe stop sounds a nice treat, I love the beach at this time of year when most people are busy elsewhere!

Poor seal, hopefully he is back with his family by now. You took some great photos of him and that is such pretty scenery.
