Rusty Gate

The landscape around here has changed dramatically since we had 5 inches of good soaking rain while we were away. The crops were looking very poorly but have now flourished. There is a fence which is rather insignificant amongst the irredesant canola crop, but the gate by this old unlived in house stands out. Linking today with

Sunshine Yellows

The canola crops are in flower now. The countryside is ablaze with these bright yellow paddocks. It just gladdens the heart to see all this colour.

Changing Colours of the Countryside

Summer must be on it's way. The countryside is now taking on a golden hue. The wheat and canola crops are almost ready to start harvesting. Where green and yellow were the dominant colours a few short weeks ago, the crops have grown and turned to their golden brown colours. Very soon the hum of harvesters working day and night will be filling the air. What started out as being a poor year has now , due to good recent rains, being turned around to an above average year for the farmers.

Rural Scenes

I will never tire of seeing the sights of the canola growing. The brightness of the yellow paddocks just about blind you. Soon it will be harvesting time and they will be gone, to be followed by the brown hues that summer brings. Windmills are also part of our countryside, pumping the water for our livestock to survive.
