Monday Mural

I have only just found this meme and as I have quite a few murals in my photo collection it is a good opportunity to join in. This mural is found in Moora, a town in Western Australia's wheatbelt area. It honours the early settlers of the day and pays homage to the Clydesdale horse which were used as work horses on the land. 5. Welcome aboard, Linley. I'm quite partial to historical themed mural. Such a great way to honor the past. And educational to boot. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

  6. Wonderful photo Linley! and, surprising to many people is that these wonderful horses were used in more modern times as well. My (former) husband used these wonderful animals to plough his first farm in Tasmania and I remember him telling me how some of his fellow farmers didn't treat the animals so good, but his were treated like royalty and were his greatest friends. They were hard days, and hard work.

  7. It's a charming mural. Like Oakland Daily Photo I'm also partial to historical themed mural, so this is very interesting to me.

  8. Where would we have been without horses?

I was pretty close to the echidna - I saw it walk into a woodpile and waited (and waited) for it to come out agian - which it did in the end.

  9. Great mural. I love Clydesdales. Have many happy memories of them as a child and still love to see them in parades pulling beer wagons and the like. Such noble, gentle beasts.
