Tracks, Trails and Tractors

This mural is the theme for our town, Wongan Hills. The paintwork is now somewhat faded but the message lives on. In between the murals are two poems being told of the towns history , relating to past and present. The mural is found on the temporary home of the Tourist Centre which is run entirely by volunteers. A new community centre is being built near the railway line and should be open next year, thereby housing the Tourist Centre.

  1. Nice poetic sentiment. Reminds me of some I recently saw in Warrens, Wisconsin, but they didn't have the story to go along with them.

  2. I wonder if they will move the murals to the new centre?

  3. I actually like the fading. It reminds me of how photos fade over time. Hopefully these well be preserved over time when the Tourist Bureau moves to new quarters. The poems are lovely and write a special history to go with the images. Nice concept. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

  4. I like the idea that that have painted bricks on bricks - made me look twice!

  5. I hate to admit that I can't ever remember going to Wongan Hills, although I have travelled the central wheatbelt a lot - especially since my sister lives at Bruce Rock. I must put it on my list! My mum and dad lived for a short while at Goomalling in the 1950s.
Great to meet up with you - I discovered you through Red's page.
    Have a wonderful week.
