Thought For Today

A good time to keep your mouth shut is when you are in deep water.

Adelaide Airport

Seems like I have been up forever. An early start to the day today, left Wudinna at 6am to be be in Port Lincoln by 8-20 to catch flight to Adelaide. Didn't arrive to book in till 8-30 so thankfully there was no drama about being late. Flight to Adelaide was only 40 mins so have been filling in time for over 4 hours. Will be boarding soon for the flight home to Perth. Weather not so good over there today, storms coming through, so here's hoping its not too bumpy, there goes our call to board.

PS. Well, that was one hell of a flight. Weather in Perth was atrocious, first attempt at landing was aborted, circled for around 20 mins before finally landing. Around 8 planes were circling during this time. Thank you Mr Qantas pilot for your expertise in getting us safely down. I did spot a most beautiful rainbow while we were up there, looking down on top of it gave a different perspective. Glad to be back home.

These red tailed black cockatoos are becoming en endangered species in the wild and are we are finding more and more of them in the suburban area due to their natural habitat being destroyed. They have taken a liking to the berries off Cape Lilac trees.

Riding Shotgun

We followed this ute down the highway into the small town of Pemberton in WA's South. The dog on the back was quite a character, he would turn around and bark at us and then take up his post and keep lookout

The Stirling Ranges WA

The road less travelled brings us to the beautiful Stirling Ranges in southern Western Australia, near Albany. Walking tracks, wildflowers,  climb up Bluff Knoll and views of the salt lakes and the Southern Ocean to Albany await.

An Introduction

How many of us, when we travel, take the quickest route? I like taking the longer, the scenic, the more interesting way, the road less travelled. You will be surprised at some of the places you will come across, places you didn't even know existed. You won't find us booked into flash resorts in busy cities. We will be out in the country somewhere, maybe in a campervan, caravan park or motel. I will share with you John and my travels, past, present and future. Most of our travels have been weekend getaways within easy driving distance from Perth, but we do want to become grey nomads in the future.
