Monday Mural

The local skate park here in Wongan Hills provides the kids with a safe place to ride their bikes, skateboards or just generally hangout. The fact that it has been built right opposite the police station probably cuts out a lot of anti social behaviour which can sometimes plague skate parks. I liked the two murals which have been painted here to brighten up the concrete.

This one depicts our hills, wildflowers and farming crops and sheep. It is on the reverse side of the first one. Note the police station across the road.

Vege Garden Update

I am so pleased with the way my vege garden is now progressing. It seemed to be very dormant for quite some time. Not knowing the growing conditions up here I was beginning to think I was wasting my time. The rain we are having at the moment has revived and invigorated everything. My only concern now is that we are going away next week for a couple of weeks and broccoli and cabbages will be ready for picking. Hopefully they get a move on and I can pick some before I go, otherwise my neighbours will be in luck. Last week we had a new dividing fence erected, it makes such a difference for ours and the neighbours privacy. These are my fences once again for Fridays Fences.

Parsley and Corriander

Now I can plant out new garden on this side now that the fence is complete

Skywatch Friday

Grey sky today. We are loving it. The winter here has been so mild, so that today we are extremely happy to be finally getting a taste of good rain. The wheat farmers will be over the moon about the wet weather. It would be such a good night to stay in, but we are off to a Christmas in July dinner at the local Bowling Club, how I wish I had not booked our dinner.

Monday Mural

A lot of old concrete bus shelters in Perth have been spruced up with murals. This one is on Safety Bay Road in the coastal suburb of Safety Bay. The idea of allowing artists to decorate the bus shelters makes them more pleasing to the eye and also hopefully deters the graffiti artists vandals, apparently there is supposed to be an unwritten rule that they  do not deface another artists work. Unfortunately, it still seems to open slather by some.

Shadow Shot Sunday

The sun shining through the lattice on my back patio makes for an interesting shadow shot.

Fridays Fences

Todays fence was taken on last weeks Sunday drive to Cadoux, a smaller town about 50klm from us. The old railway sleepers are weathered and make an interesting fence.

Monday Mural

I had to search the archives for a mural today. This one was taken a few years ago on a trip to South Australia when we visited Tumby Bay. It is an Arts Centre set on the foreshore.

Shadow Shot Sunday

This shadow shot was taken at Myalup Beach while we were waiting for the sunset, which can be seen on my previous post.
