Thoughts, musings and photos, whatever comes to mind on any given day.
Very pretty....and I'm going to sound like an idiot here, but do they get the base for chewing gum from this tree?
Not a silly question Davis, The Australian Gums are Eucalypts. A lot of different species, Eucalyptus oil comes from them, not gum.
Wow ~ love the puffy texture the flower appears to be ~ Exquisite photography for MMY ^_^
I have seen the red and the white but never the yellow ....its certainly nice and vibrant and I'm sure, an added beauty to your neighborhood.
Thanks Dianne, there is also one that has silver bark and looks like it has been splashed with paint. There are so many varieties, some I just love for their bark or shape.

I tried for years to grow various flowering gums but failed miserably. This is a beautiful specimen Linley.
Thanks Rose, I have never had space to grow them myself but do admire them when they are in flower whether it be in the street or out in the bush.
Very pretty It is still cold here so no flowers.
Its been hot over here Debrorah so maybe thats why I have seen so many in flower this year.
How lucky to have this in view of your house. beautiful blossoms.
Thanks Diane, will be moving next month but I have also struck it lucky, there are 2 or 3 gum trees in the side street of my new house. It will be a surprise to see what colour they are.
