Good Fences near Esperance

Last week we spent we a few days away at the coastal town of Esperance. The weather was very unkind to us so most of these fences were taken from inside the car. We had intended to visit a newly created full size replica of Stonehenge but unfortunately  it was closed when we arrived. It was cold and wet and I had to settle for a photo from the roadside.

Spotted this old truck in the little town of Kondinin   last week and just had to stop for a photo to share with  Roan's weekly meme,  Rubbish Tuesday

Weekend Reflections

A still, sunny day equals good reflections in the water. Last Sunday was a perfect winter's day so we jumped in the car for a Sunday drive and ended up at Gingin, about 120 klms away.  These pics are from the beautiful park in the centre of town with the Gingin Brook running through.   A working replica of a  waterwheel is a feature in this beautiful park.

Pelican Feeding At Kalbarri

These pics are from the archives, one just appeared on the screensaver so I thought it an appropriate posting for Wildbird Wednesday. At the coastal resort town of Kalbarri, Western Australia, local volunteers feed the pelicans daily. They turn up at the same time each  day for a fish.  They are not overfed so don't risk fending for themselves and  make a popular attraction for the tourists. I will show you some of the spectacular scenery from around the area in another post. 

Rubbish Tuesday

You never know what you will find when you take a  back road. Chances are there will be old machinery left in paddocks, so this is my contribution today to Rubbish Tuesday  Visit  Rubbish By Roan to see more old, some still useful, and some  not so useful items.

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

Historic Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is situated at the most south westerly tip of Australia, standing at the point where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet - 8 kilometres west of Augusta, in the South West of Western Australia. If you are feeling energetic you can climb the stairs to the top of the lighthouse for magnificent views. It is 39 metres tall and 56 metres above sea level. The white limestone lighthouse looks  striking against a clear blue sky.
