Walking and Skywatching

We woke up last Sunday morning and agreed that it was a good day to go for a 5klm walk along the Mount Matilda Walk Trail, about 12 klms out of  Wongan Hills. Packed a couple of sandwiches and a flask of coffee as there are  benches along the way to sit and take in the views over the country side.  Enjoy the views and sky.

Colourful Bougainvillea

The extreme heat up here is finally waning so all of a sudden everything is beginning to look alive again. Thought I would show off my  Good (daggy fibro) Fence which is being covered by the  bougainvillea. I do need to trim it back this weekend which will encourage even more flower heads.

Rainbow Jungle Kalbarri

Not being a bird person I can't remember the various names of these birds. Rainbow Jungle  is a beautiful parrot habitat in Kalbarri Western Australia. The day we went there was such a hot humid day so a lot of the birds were sheltering from the heat. There are many kept in large cages which were a bit difficult to photograph. The large walk through aviary where these photos  were taken was a  tropical paradise for the ones lucky enough to be housed there.  Here is a link to their web page.

Good Fences

I may have shown this fence before but it would have been a couple of years back after we did a trip to the South island of New Zealand. It is in the town of Kingston on the way to Queenstown.  It came up on my screensaver so brought back memories of a fantastic trip.
