The Wongan Hills Water Tower has been lit up pink to raise funds for Breast Cancer as part of Global Illumination. The idea is to light up a building or landmark, raising funds along the way. Our small town raised, I believe $20,000 to be donated. The tower was built in 1913 to supply the trains with water. A few years ago it was reinforced as it was in danger of toppling over.
