Skywatch Friday

New Zealand is not called "The land of the long white cloud" for no reason. These shots were taken just out of Kingston on the way to Queenstown on a beautiful autumn day in May 2012. The road runs along  Lake Wakatipu all the way Queenstown. The cloud was low over the Lake and the autumn colours on the trees were a delight.

Linking with Skywatch Friday. Check out more sky pics here at

  1. Great picture! Didn't you just feel like you could reach up and grab those clouds?

  2. Fantastic photos. The lake is so beautiful and that cloud hanging half way up the mountain is spectacular.

  3. Oh memories, beautiful!!! Any of the Mt Cook area coming up?? :)

The last time we were over there (no digital cameras!) so all of my photos are in albums.

But this is the best and greatest way to share with so many people.

    thank you Linley!!

  4. Oh these photos are very special, Linley - I've never seen skies being so low!!! It must have been a unique experience to drive along the lake woth such a beautiful scenery!

  5. I've seen clouds quite like that. So pretty!
