A few good days of steady rain has helped kick the vegetable garden along nicely. I have already been picking lettuce, spinach and bok choy. Capsicums are fruiting well at the moment too, I have 3 plants in from last year that are still going strong. So far we have planted broccoli, red cabbage, brown, white red and spring onions, spinach, bok choy, beetroot, leeks, rhubarb, capsicums, carrots, peas, garlic, radish, lettuce and rocket as well as herbs of parsley, thyme, rosemary and basil.

A full tank of rainwater helps keep the watering expense down.

ReplyDeleteIt all looks so good. And nothing touched by wintry winds. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your shadowy garden!

That's a beautiful garden! What a joy.
ReplyDeleteYou sure have done a lot of work in that veggie garden. I have tried and tried but given up this year and will just concentrate on herbs and the natives. What do you do with all the vegetables there are too many for just two of you, surely.
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane, we are trying to grow things that keep like onions, pumpkins garlic and things that freeze and bottle well, plus the neighbours have taken a liking to me, ha ha. I had never made tomato relish before or preserved beetroot but I had good success with that last year.
