A Mural of Convenience

The final mural for 2013 was taken on our August trip to New Zealands North Island town of Dargaville. The public amenities on the banks of the Northern Wairoa River are painted to match their surroundings. Featured  is the Pohutukawa Tree or is commonly known as the New Zealand Christmas Tree, the Band Rotunda and the River.

The Pohutukawa in the background of this pic are not in flower but when they do they are a vibrant red.

The yellow in the mural represents the Northern Wairoa River which is extremely muddy

  2. That's interesting to have a mural of the view that is also right in front of you!
Now, if you were to have a proper winter, it would be lovely to be able to see at a glance the two seasons together.
