Skywatch Friday

I almost missed this magnificent sky on Tuesday night if not for a glimpse out the back door at just the right time. Tea was on the table but I just had to run and get the camera and head across the road for a better view down our street. Had no time to change settings but these colours are  close to true.

Weekend Reflections

This tranquil spot at Noble Falls is one of our favourite pit stops when returning from a trip to Perth. Tuesday was no exception, and  with more water flowing from the heavy rain last weekend.

A Touch Of Orange

Not a lot has been happening in my part of the world, but that's okay, that's the way I like it. The sky still has the ability to put on a show worthy of capture and my old rose bush out the front has these  wonderful  orange coloured blooms, they do however only last a day or two before they fade into insignificance. I visited the 52 Photo Project blog and the theme for this week is ORANGE so please enjoy my sky and rose.

Bobtail Goanna

Meet Gordon, he is a  baby Bobtail Goanna who has made himself at home in my garden. They say goannas are territorial so I guess he is here to stay. I am extra vigilant now when I start weeding around bushes and shrubs. They are mostly harmless but can bite if provoked. I first saw him 2 weeks ago and yesterday he was on the path but soon took for cover again when the camera came out.

Rubbish Tuesday

This old garden seat was hidden under layers of blue plumbago and bottle brush when we first moved into our house. It wasn't discovered till hubby took to the jungle. Although old and weathered and seen better days, I have kept it in the front garden.  The odd coat of linseed oil is keeping it presentable. I don't advise guests to sit on it, but on occasions, when out in the garden and needing a breather, I do, being careful though.

Skywatching

Last night it looked quite ominous from the back view, dark clouds passing by, some rain in the air hopefully. No, not to be.  Out to the front of the house was this part rainbow in the clearing sky.

Sunday Shadows

Time to catch up with all your blogs to see what has been going on in your part of the world. My little corner has been experiencing lovely spring weather up till now, but as I sit looking out the window, the severe weather warning which has been forecast is fast approaching. Yesterday, the sun shone, so there were nice shadows along the walk track.

Peek - A - Boo

I snapped this little guy foraging amongst the carpet of yellow and white last week. The pink and grey galahs are very common around here but thankfully not as destructive as the white corellas

These orchids were found in different areas of bush close to home , sometimes they are difficult to find, given that they are quite small in size.  Now that I know where to look it will be easier to spot them next year.

Workhorses

These two gentle giants worked all day providing rides around the venue at the Dowerin Field Day. I have always had a soft spot for Clydesdale horses, aren't they adorable?  These are my contribution to Eileen's Saturday Critters

House Guest

Meet Buffy, he was my house guest for a night last week while his mum had a night away. After initially sitting by the front door waiting to see if she was coming back for him, he quickly settled in, but was ever so excited when mum did finally come back to get him. Needless to say he made himself quite at home.

Skywatching

My aim was to catch the parrots as they were gathering in the bottlebrush tree but by the time I raced inside to get the camera, they had departed. This is the best I could do today.

Relics at Ravensthorpe Museum

A quick stop off at Ravensthorpe, on the way to Esperance, found us having a look through the museum. I would have loved to have spent more time looking at the items that have been saved from the scrap heap for this interesting look into the past.
